Support the Mayflower Marathon: A Lifeline for our Community
The Mayflower Marathon stands as our largest holiday food drive, having provided millions of meals to families experiencing food insecurity over the past 27 years. Hunger can strike without warning, as we witnessed during the COVID-19 pandemic and with natural disasters like Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. For many already facing challenges, food insecurity has intensified, and new faces are now seeking help.
Today, close to 61,000 people across the greater Peninsula - including over 20,000 children - are experiencing food insecurity, unsure of where their next meal will come from. Our most vulnerable neighbors are also grappling with additional hardships and tough choices, especially with rising food and fuel costs. When families must decide between paying rent, utilities, or purchasing medications, food often takes a back seat. No one should have to face such difficult decisions that impact their health and well-being. The truth is, any one of us could find ourselves in this situation.
While it's heartbreaking to witness the struggles of those around us, your support plays a vital role in helping them navigate these challenging times. With every donation, you make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, families, seniors, and veterans who are missing meals and lacking the essential nourishment they need to thrive.
Join us in making a difference this holiday season. Together, we can ensure that no one in our community has to face hunger alone.
